Attend the 2-day Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO®) training facilitated by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) approved by Scrum Alliance.

CST Recommendation

After successful workshop completion, the Certified Scrum Trainer recommends your name to the Scrum Alliance.

Receive Certification Link

Scrum Alliance emails you the link to download your CSPO® certificate.
No exam required.

What is covered in the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) Workshop?

All CSPO Certification Workshops cover the learning objectives set by Scrum Alliance.

While there are no mandatory prerequisites, having basic knowledge of Agile values and principles, product management, or product ownership helps you maximize your learning during the workshop.

To prepare well:

  • Review the pre-workshop content we email you after registration.

  • Plan your workshop days with minimal distractions.

  • Think through product discovery, product management, and development challenges you’d like to address in the workshop, write them down, and bring them with you.

  • Get adequate rest before the workshop.

No. The Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) workshop is a 2-day in-person classroom workshop. It cannot be taken fully online or virtually. Due to the highly interactive and experiential nature of the workshop, classroom engagement with other participants is essential.

No. There is no exam required for the CSPO certification. After you successfully complete the 2-day workshop, the trainer will recommend your name to Scrum Alliance. Scrum Alliance will then email you instructions and you can download your CSPO certificate from your member dashboard.

Workshop fees vary depending on city, mode of payment, early bird discounts, and group registrations. Rates are displayed when you select a date and city and click Register on the schedule.

The Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is provided by Scrum Alliance and is valid for two years from the issue date.

All CSPO workshops are facilitated by experienced Certified Scrum Trainers. For specific trainer information, refer to the training schedule for your selected city and date.

To renew your CSPO certification, log in to your Scrum Alliance account dashboard and complete the renewal process. A renewal fee (as specified by Scrum Alliance) applies.

Participants who attend the full 2-day workshop are eligible for 16 SEUs (Scrum Education Units) and 16 PDUs (Professional Development Units), which can contribute toward advanced designations and professional certifications.

About the CSPO® Certification

All Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) courses focus on Scrum from a product owner’s perspective and are delivered by Scrum Alliance–approved Certified Scrum Trainers (CSTs). There is no exam—participants earn the CSPO® certification upon workshop completion. The certification is valid for two years, and earning a CSPO® automatically extends any existing CSM or CSD certifications by an additional two years.
